I was looking at a close-up photograph by a fellow artist on deviantart of a hydrangea petal. The veins of the petal were very beautiful and intricate and inspired me to create this piece. I had some leftover paper with red paint splatters on it lying around and not wanting to let it go to waste, I decided to use it, adding more colors and then drawing in the fine lines with ink.

Veins transport nutrients, in plants and in humans alike. I find this connection very interesting and beautiful. Although we are very different species, there are things that we have in common.
